Leafclock Renewal Label FAQ

Find clear answers to the questions brands, sourcing teams, and product teams ask most often about the Leafclock Renewal Label.

What is the Leafclock Renewal Label?

The Leafclock Renewal Label is a visual bio-label that helps indicate a product’s usage cycle. It uses a color-changing indicator area to show how long a textile item has actually been used, as a practical reference for everyday replacement decisions.

How does the technology work?

It uses a Biotracer bio-tracing material that responds to aging and exposure factors during use, such as washing abrasion, light exposure, and external contamination. These factors drive changes in the material’s physical and molecular structure, which appear as a color change.

What is the Leafclock Renewal Label used for?

For consumers, it provides a simple reminder to support more confident textile use. For brands, it adds a visible product feature and can support conversion and repeat purchase. For fast fashion, it encourages using garments for their appropriate life instead of short-term waste, and supports more sustainable habits.

How can the label be applied to products?

It can be applied as a low-profile, heat-transfer label at a designated position on the garment, or made as a woven label that is sewn onto the product.

Can the design be customized?

The graphic design can be customized. The colors of the color-change indicator area and the reference area are fixed and cannot be changed. For the wash plus air-dry model, the indicator changes from blue to pink. For the wash plus tumble-dry model, the indicator changes from yellow to purple.

Can care-label information such as size and composition be included on the Renewal Label?

Yes. Size information and the Renewal Label can be integrated into one label.

Can the technical hangtag be customized?

No. The technical hangtag is an official Leafclock identification tag provided as a supporting technical marker. It is not customizable and there is no additional charge.

How much does the Leafclock Renewal Label cost?

Pricing is quoted separately based on the graphic size, quantity, and product category. Typical pricing is in the range of USD 0.10 to 0.20 per label.

What is the process for a first-time collaboration?

First, we discuss and define a healthy usage cycle and provide the technical solution. Next, the customer designs the label artwork, and we arrange sampling and pre-production testing. After final confirmation and contract signing, we proceed with production and delivery.

Is there a minimum order quantity, and can you support multiple sizes and specifications?

Yes. For a standard, general-purpose label, the MOQ is 5,000 pieces. For customized requirements, the typical MOQ is 20,000 pieces, and multiple sizes are supported.

Can the label be applied to all fabrics?

Yes. Before mass production, pre-production testing is performed. We recommend sending the fabric to our lab for early-stage fastness and functional testing.

How long does sampling take, how long does mass production take, and is sampling charged?

Timing depends on the specific sample requirements and shipping distance. A small sampling fee is charged, typically USD 100 to 200 per round.

After repeated washing, will the text or graphics peel off?

No. The label has strong interfacial bonding and high wash durability. In standard testing, it can typically reach the highest colorfastness grades.

Some products are used for about two years. Can the color change be made slower?

Yes. Based on the customer’s usage scenario, the reminder frequency and the color-change sensitivity can be customized.

If products stay in inventory for a long time without being sold, will the label change color?

No. It will not change color as long as it is stored away from light.

How accurate is the color-change cycle?

The label is based on usage models and technical solutions built for specific application scenarios. Under standard test models, it is 100% accurate. If real-world usage conditions and care routines differ, normal variation in the color-change timing can occur.

Can you provide test reports?

Yes. We can provide the company’s internal test report and an SGS test report.
